Tallington Lakes is excited to be offering an opportunity for a motivated, outgoing, individual to take on the Watersports Centre Manager role at Tallington Lakes; based in a beautiful location in Lincolnshire, with 205 acres of clean spring fed water.
Tallington Lakes Watersports Centre is one of the leading providers of watersports activities and training in the area. The Watersports Centre Manager’s role is to maintain, manage and develop all aspects of our outdoor activity centre, keeping the needs of the schools, groups and public at the forefront of their minds.Role Overview
The Centre Manager is ultimately responsible for:
- The smooth running of all areas of the centre including standards of training, equipment maintenance and wellbeing of the customers and instructors.
- For staff training, selection, mentoring and compliance with working practices they are asked to fulfil.
- Providing professional leadership and guidance to the centre team.
- Liaising with customers both prior & during their visit to Tallington Lakes.
- Working closely with the Activity Manager to successfully deliver all activities to the standards set out by Tallington Lakes.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
Personnel
- The manager is expected to set the example in attitude to work and personal presentation, and behave in professional manner at all times
- Liaising with Activities Manager and Site Management to keep a happy and sustainable working environment
Activities
- Ensuring activities are organised and run in line with company policies and statutory/ accreditation requirements.
Presentation
- Ensure that Tallington Lakes present itself in the best possible light to visitors, homeowners and the local community. This will involve ensuring the centre and equipment, as well as events and initiatives, are of a standard to positively introduce watersports to our potential audience.
Sales & Administration
- Ensure that all administrative duties are completed, including course programmes, staff management, accounts, bookings, reports, and weekly schedules
- Organising events in line with agreed marketing plan to introduce the venue to potential and existing visitors
- Advising customers on courses, holidays and any other aspects of Tallington Lakes that may be required.
Maintenance
- Ensure that equipment is maintained to a suitable standard.
- Ensure that adequate stocks of materials and spares are carried.
Other
- Contribute ideas and suggestions to help develop and achieve best practice.
- Carry out any other duties required by the Company.
Requirements
You will need to be hard working, motivated and friendly as well as having excellent customer service skills and the ability to be flexible, and professional at all times with both customers and staff.
Essential Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Senior Instructor qualification
- You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work successfully on multiple projects without direct supervision.
- First Aid certificate that is valid for the upcoming season.
- Computer literate, with strong administration skills.
- Full UK Drivers Licence
Desirable:
- Prior experience of the management of a successful activity centre.
- RYA Chief Instructor.
- RYA Dinghy Instructor.
- RYA Windsurf Instructor.
- RYA Powerboat Instructor.
- RYA Personal Watercraft Instructor.
- British Canoeing Paddlesports Instructor.
- BSUP Instructor.
