Centre Delivery Manager
Are you a leader with a passion for the great outdoors? Is inspiring the next generation of children to love nature as much as you do one of your ‘whys’? Do muddy puddles, campfires and outdoor spaces excite you as much as successfully leading a team, delivering on targets and resolving daily challenges? Are you equally comfortable with a door mouse as a computer mouse (and all things IT). If the answer is yes, you could be just the person we are looking for!
We are Rootd. We are mixing things up and changing school residential trips for the better. Making them current. Making them matter. Our residentials are outdoor adventures. Trips where children are encouraged to unplug, switch on and live in the here and now. We are seeking a Centre Delivery Manager to help us to just that
Who are you?
You are vibrant. You are fun. You almost certainly don’t believe your perfect role, where a love of nature blended with genuine career progression, is out there. You love to challenge yourself personally and professionally. You have experience of leading and managing a team plus you have worked with children in an outdoor or educational environment. You pride yourself on being a consistently positive role model. Your communication skills are top-notch. Navigating your way through the competing needs of children, teachers, your team, and our host activity centre to find win-win solutions is something you embrace. You love a challenge and will deliver on our impressive rebooking rates.
Our Centre Delivery Managers hold a vital role. When you work for Rootd you are encouraged and supported to take ownership and responsibility for delivery excellence of your centre. That means the Centre Delivery Manager is a year-round role. During the season you will be onsite every day. Year-round opportunities
The winter months is where the magic happens. It’s when we get put plans in place to make the next year even better than the one before. It’s where our passion for excellence meets action. It’s a time where you develop and implement new ideas. You manage incoming bookings and continue building relationships with schools. Your winter workplace will be a mixture of onsite, a minimum of one day a week in the head office and working from home. And don’t worry – you won’t be stuck in a boring office our Head Office is based on a farm; people want to come into the office because they enjoy it so much!
When all the diverse needs and elements of the role are combined with the vagaries of the British weather, the only certainty is there will be uncertainty. You will need to not only embrace this but enjoy the challenge it brings. Responsibility rests with you, so you need to be confident decision maker. You need to be ready, or even excited to spend an extra overnight onsite when the team is not available. As the face of Rootd you need to lead from the front. You will be professional and approachable with exceptional communication skills.
Sounds too good to be true

When you work for Rootd, you will not only have access to a whole suite of benefits, including free food and access to free onsite accommodation to make your travel arrangements easier whilst working, you will also have free health insurance, but above all, we reward our staff fairly. If we succeed and hit our targets, then you do too through our profit-share programme. We truly believe we cannot hit those targets without our team. When we succeed, you do too.
Well, we are innovators who really believe in supporting our team. This really is the complete package of a job. With a salary based on experience, starting at £29,500 per annum you are paid for a job that does not feel like work. We aren’t saying you won’t work hard. You will. But if you love building relationships, developing a team, working with children and the great outdoors, you will be rewarded with satisfaction, ownership of how trips run and full engagement in our business.
We are mixing the industry up. And that starts with how we treat our staff. As soon as you join Rootd you become a member of a small, close-knit team. You will be encouraged and supported to expand your horizons.
