About
Dear Sir/Madam
Having spent the last 8 years of my life in educational settings, experiencing the challenges and different factors that go with children and young adults, I strongly believe and have a passion about working with children in settings which enrich their lives through play and experiences.
My degree let me investigate the different avenues in which children can learn and grow. This knowledge made me go onto investigate young people’s mental health and take a course to learn measures that can be helpful and influential. It enhanced my passion for how young people learn through different routes.
My time working at King’s Camps allowed me to focus on my ability to work in a team and interact with parents on a daily basis. As I started from the bottom as a volunteer, I had the opportunity to progress to a coach, and finally manager. Throughout my time as a coach, I learnt how to work with many children of ages 5-17 and how to adapt sessions to meet adverse needs. Kings camp enhanced my knowledge in how to run and thrive in a non-educational and play setting for children.
Being assistant manager for 2 summers at Kings Camps, I have advanced my knowledge in admin, parent repour and safeguarding in a child sporting educational setting. I was required to document incidents, build strong relationships with children and interact with parents. I also was able to spot safeguarding incidents on camp and deal with them professionally and effectively according to the company protocol. I learnt how to engage with parents, children and family members of all ages.
My current role at Leeds Grammar School puts me in a professional environment with great responsibilities. Overseeing my own budget and payroll. Also being responsible for all nights register and over 100 children. Planning different activities for every night and ensuring all resources are in place. Overseeing a team of staff and young workers and making sure progress is made by all. Interacting with governors and shareholders and presenting strategies and ideas to adapt budgets due to the ever-changing political world. I currently ensure a safe, enriching, fun environment every evening.
With all my previous experience I find myself to be a fun, outgoing, engaging and passionate person when it comes to working and engaging with children.
I feel overall these experiences and transferable skills set me up to be a great asset to yourselves.
