We are looking for passionate climbers to join our team as Duty Managers!
Our Duty Managers are responsible for the day to day running of the centre, mentoring the instructor and reception team in order to create an atmosphere where customers can have fun, try climbing for the first time, and improve their fitness in an inclusive environment, underpinned by the highest standards of safety, customer service and positive team engagement. This position also involves coaching and instructing, as well as
As well as being responsible for the day to day running of the centre, each Duty Manager would have the chance to develop their own areas of responsibility with the support of the site and company Management team. The areas of responsibilities include:
- Coaching and Youth Development
- Retail and Product Development
- Staff Development and Training
- Scheduling and Admin
- Route Setting

Open every day from morning until late evening, managing our centres requires an energetic and self-motivated person, able to motivate a team and ensure our customers have a fantastic experience during every visit leaving them looking forward to their next.
The Wandsworth site management will be well supported by an experienced company management team. We will provide training and development to ensure that the right candidates will flourish in their roles and grow with the company.
The main duties:
- Inspiring kids through delivering the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS)
- Enthusiastically and safely deliver various climbing sessions for all ages and abilities, including adult courses for beginners and improvers, kids clubs, parties and other group sessions / programs
- Helping customers in a friendly and efficient manner
- Working on reception, taking bookings, phone calls, & shop, and running the day to day of the centre
- Selling services and products offered
- Helping the Centre Assistants develop and become their best self
Required skills
- Knowledge of best practice in climbing - sport climbing and bouldering
- Experience working in the climbing / outdoor industry
- Proven record of excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proven communication & team working skills
- Good knowledge of standard IT packages (e.g. word, excel, outlook, etc.)
- Good problem solving skills
Desirable skills
- Climbing qualifications (e.g CWI, Fundas, Foundation Coaching)
- Valid First Aid
- Strong IT and office word/excel skills
