Description of the Host Property:
Refinery Hotel is the modern reinterpretation of the Colony Arcade—a former hat factory and Prohibition-era tea room. More than 100 years of Garment District history are on display at our luxury hotel near Bryant Park. With an unprecedented degree of precision, much like the milliners stitching before us, we transformed a factory building into stylish loft rooms with soaring ceilings, the nostalgic Parker & Quinn restaurant, and our fashionable Refinery Rooftop bar.
Description of the Training:
Create unforgettable guest experiences in the Rooms Division department at a world-leading luxury hotel/resort through a J-1 hospitality internship or traineeship program at the Refinery Hotel New York. Train in a diverse and multicultural environment, under the guidance and leadership of industry leaders in the guest services field as you rotate in different roles in the department. This rotational program is designed to give you exposure to the international hospitality industry and give you the experience needed to excel in your career when you return to your home country.
ITN & ODYSSEY All-Inclusive Program:
Unlike most J-1 Program providers, a regional ITN representative will guide you through a streamlined registration process, thanks to ITN and ODYSSEY’s all-inclusive approach. ITN and ODYSSEY will be on hand to provide you with the very best personalized service from the time that you arrive in the United States until your departure from the United States upon completion of your program.
Description of the Location:
New York City is bursting with diversity and excitement – from the iconic attractions you've seen on TV and in the movies to hidden gems waiting to be uncovered. Each of the five boroughs – The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island – has a distinctive flavor, while individual neighborhoods maintain identities all their own. Walkable streets and access to the subway, buses and cabs make it easy to get from neighborhood to neighborhood.
Accommodation is not provided, ITN will provide the successful candidate with an Arrival Package which includes contact information for housing.
